The overall effectiveness of the early years provision
Children's individual needs are well known by staff, and reflected in the good range of play experiences and activities the setting provides. Good relationships with the parents rersult in information being shared well and effective links being made between home and the setting.
The effectiveness of the leadership and management of the early years provision
Staff supervise and interact well with children enabling them to explore safely, while encouraging awareness of their own and each other's safety.
The staff team enjoy their work and this is evident in their supportive and caring interaction with children, and the good range of stimulating and interesting play and learning experiences they provide. Staff create a friendly, welcoming and caring atmosphere resulting in children and their families feeling valued and welcome at the setting. The manager's enthusiastic approach encourages staff to contibute to the setting, and results in good practice.
Space in the setting is organised appropriately to support children's play and learning. A good range of quality play materials, furniture and equipment are in place and staff present these creatively to attract and encourage children's attention.
Relationships with parents are good. Parents praise the setting and comment on how well their children are developing. Information is shared daily, regular parents meetings are held and regular newsletters provided for parents.
The quality and standards of the early years provision and outcomes for children
Children are secure, happy and thoroughly enjoy their play and learning in the welcoming and interesting environment. They are developing skills they will use in the future, through a well planned range of activities and play experiences and supportive and encouraging interaction with staff.
Children behave well, and are learning to consider each other as they play and investigate.
The setting participates in the 'Every Child A Talker' initiative, which is reflected in the children's langauge development being encouraged well. Older children enjoy constructive discussion, questions, and conversations with staff, and younger children are developing language skills and their vocabulary.
